Skyramp raises $10M to put software reliability on autopilot

Jun 24, 2025

We’ve raised a $10M Seed round, led by Sequoia, and are launching our first product, allowing you to ship code with confidence.

Today, we are thrilled to announce the launch of Skyramp – along with some big news. We’ve raised a $10 million seed funding round led by Sequoia Capital, and we’re launching the first pieces of our product suite that aim to fully automate software testing - generating reliable tests to avoid catastrophic production failures.

Why Skyramp?

It’s an exciting time to be a developer – generative AI can now crank out code in an instant. Tools like GitHub Copilot and Cursor promise to boost productivity while reducing the strain on devs. But as many of us have learned the hard way, there’s a flip side to that speed. When code is being written faster than ever (often by AI), ensuring its quality and correctness becomes a huge challenge. In fact, a recent survey of software engineering leaders found that over half (59%) observed AI coding tools introducing deployment errors at least half the time. The same survey showed 67% of developers now spend more time debugging AI-generated code, and 68% are spending more time fixing AI-related security issues that slip in. Ironically, the AI that was supposed to save developer effort can end up creating more work, unless we find a better way to integrate it into our workflows.

The hidden cost: AI can generate code quickly, but without proper context or testing, it can also generate bugs and vulnerabilities just as quickly. A full 92% of engineers in the survey said AI tools have increased the “blast radius” of bad code that needs debugging. We’ve essentially traded one kind of developer burnout for another – now it’s debugging mysterious AI-written code at 4 PM on a Friday.

Why is this happening? One issue is that most AI code tools lack awareness of your specific architecture and environment. A recent Reddit discussion highlights these issues in a real example when Microsoft deployed the Copilot Agent to open PRs on the .NET repository. Many of the PRs showcase frustrating back and forths between engineers and the agent due to incomplete fixes, failing tests, and a lack of functional validation. When an AI suggests code that compiles but doesn’t quite fit your APIs, your data models, or your infra, developers are left holding the bag to figure out why. Debugging someone else’s code is hard enough – debugging code written by an AI is close to impossible. This is where automated tests should catch issues… but who is going to write all these tests?

From “vibe coding” to “vibe testing”

This is the heart of why we started Skyramp. We asked ourselves: What if an AI could act like an autonomous QA engineer for your team, tirelessly generating and running all the tests you need? Not just unit tests, but deterministic, functional tests that just work out of the box. We spent the last two years building a product that seamlessly combines AI and proprietary scaffolding so it can truly understand your application’s behavior and environment, and produce reliable tests – the kind you could confidently plug into your CI pipeline or run before every deploy.

We’ve just launched the Skyramp CLI, a command-line tool available today that puts our AI-driven test generation at your fingertips. The CLI gives you hands-on access to Skyramp’s capabilities – you can generate comprehensive functional and performance tests with a single command. In other words, it’s your ticket to deterministic test generation right now.

But we’re not stopping there. Enter the Skyramp Agent – our more powerful, autonomous QA engine that takes vibe testing to the next level. The Agent is designed to work quietly alongside you, integrating seamlessly with tools you already love (yes, it plays nicely with GitHub Copilot, Cursor etc). Imagine coding away (or having an agent do the coding) while an AI QA assistant handles all the testing in parallel: generating test cases, deploying them to your environment, and validating results – all without you lifting a finger. That’s what the Skyramp Agent does. It makes the test generation, deployment, and validation process completely hands-off for developers. We’re offering early access to the Agent through a waitlist (it’s in limited preview while we fine-tune this magic), but it’s already clear this is the future of “test as you build.” When you combine an AI that writes your code with an AI that tests it, you’ve basically got autonomous development flow – or as we like to call it, vibe coding meets vibe testing.

Why should you try Skyramp?

  • Complete Testing in One Platform: Instead of juggling separate tools for API testing, UI testing, load testing, and more, Skyramp unifies all these capabilities. It’s a one-stop platform to handle every critical test type, reducing tool sprawl and ensuring all parts of your application are validated together.

  • Modular, Complex Scenarios: With Skyramp, engineers can rapidly generate complex test scenarios without writing tedious boilerplate code. Simply describe your scenario, record user interactions, or point Skyramp at your application. You immediately get reliable, modular tests that are easy to understand, maintain, and extend. Skyramp’s deterministic generation capabilities ensure that the generated test will work out of the box and take care of nitty-gritty details (e.g., chaining of variables across requests).

  • Self-Maintaining Tests: No more constantly rewriting tests after minor changes. Skyramp automatically updates tests by adjusting locators or response/request values when your application changes. Our deterministic generation allows for clear, incremental diffs that ensure developers know exactly what changed, making it easy to distinguish real failures from expected updates. Your test suites remain stable and always up-to-date with minimal effort.

  • Instant, Infra-Aware Execution: Run your tests instantly without worrying about external dependencies or environment setup. Skyramp automatically mocks external services as needed and handles routing requests to the right endpoints as the test environment changes, allowing tests to execute reliably out of the box. Easily adapt your tests for local development or CI/CD pipelines with a single parameter, ensuring consistent and seamless testing from your laptop to Kubernetes clusters in the cloud.

  • Seamless Language/Framework Integration: Use Skyramp with the tools your team already knows – whether it’s JUnit, Pytest, Playwright, or others. Tests are generated in your preferred language (Python, Java, TypeScript, etc.) and follow familiar patterns, so they slot into your existing test suites and CI/CD workflows without skipping a beat.

We want to thank everyone who has supported us in reaching this point – from our tireless team, our early customers who shaped the product with us, to our seed investor (huge shoutout to Sequoia Capital for believing in our vision). We’re just at the beginning of what we hope will be a transformative journey for software quality.

If you’re as frustrated as we were with brittle tests, undetected regressions, or the anxiety of deploying code that hasn’t been truly proven safe – we invite you to give Skyramp a try. Join the waitlist for the Skyramp Agent, try out our CLI tool, or get in touch with us to learn more about how we can help. We’re building Skyramp to solve real problems you face every day, and your feedback is gold to us. Together, we can move toward a world where AI-generated code isn’t scary because Skyramp tests have got our backs.

Here’s to shipping software with confidence! 🚀
